Morrissey Isn’t Always Right

“How soon is now?”

I want to take a minute to quote Steven Patrick Morrissey (Lead singer and song writer of the band “The Smiths”):
There’s a club, if you’d like to go
You could meet someone who really loves you
So you go, and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home
And you cry
And you want to die

Not to knock on Morrissey’s style- but this is not the right attitude to have when going out. NEVER go to a club or bar with such high expectations. Your only expectation should be to have fun and meet new people. This is important because not only will you feel bad about yourself if you don’t meet anyone, but you set yourself up for that in the first place.

Also, don’t go alone. You need a wingman- you just do. The only time going alone is OK is when you are friends with the staff (when i say friends i mean they actually are your friends) you know the band playing, or it’s a restaurant and bar and you’re grabbing some food.

Lastly, don’t listen to your personal “sad love radio” mix you made on your mp3 player: you’ll just depress yourself.

  1. You’re absolutely right! Why do I always have to listen to “I Wanna Know What Love Is” when I leave the club and the night was a complete failure!
